Silk Road International Bank,through joint-cooperation with UnionPay International,opened on August 1st, 2017 a POS terminal with the first merchant business in Djibouti accepting UnionPay cards, so that to provide convenient payment for local Chinese enterprises and Chinese people , and better support the implementation of “One Belt One Road” Initiative.
Djibouti is the gateway and the transportation hub between Europe,Africa and Asia ,three continents, but also the key node of the “Maritime Silk Road” in Africa. Since the implementation of the “One Belt One Road” initiative, the exchanges between China and Djibouti have become increasingly frequent, and more and more Chinese have traveled to Djibouti to work and live. Silk Road International Bank officially opened on January 2017 , set up by the Chinese-invested enterprises.It is China’s important financial infrastructure established in Africa under the framework of “One Belt One Road “.

But also,in the future ,it will carry out further cooperation with UnionPay International together in the field of ATM opening and local cards’ issuance , for a large number of non-Chinese enterprises providing safe and convenient Payment and Settlement Service.
